The Beirut Film Society honors Randa Kehdi… and free screening of 74 movies over 5 days
Under the theme “Women for leadership”, the Beirut Film Society organized the 6th edition of the “Beirut International Women Film festival”.
Along with the International Women’s Day, the Festival started off with an homage to Randa Kehdi on the theater of Casino du Liban’s Salle des Ambassadeur, on the 5th of March.
Over the next 5 days it included a schedule filled with cultural and artistic activities, the screening of 74 movies, as part of a competition among 6 international and Lebanese film categories.
The screenings were followed by symposiums on Women and Women participation in cinema, politics and economy in cooperation with civil society and diplomatic stakeholders.
Celebratory premieres were also organized for multiple movies including:
1. The Sons of the Lord with Takla Chamoun, directed by Imene Ben Hassine
2. Iman with Stephanie Atallah and Rita Hayek, Directed by Korinna Avramidou and Kyriacos Tofarides
3. La Nuit du Verre d’Eau with Talal Jurdi and Marilyn Naaman, directed by Carlos Chahine
4. Perhaps What I Fear Does Not Exist, directed by Corinne Chaoui
The festival was concluded with a closing ceremony, announcing the results and awards with the presence of jury members and filmmakers
