The Tale of a Lebanese Dream

Lebanon, a land synonymous with adventure, youth and music, bears witness to a tale of a dream from within its borders.

Amid the trials of the Covid Pandemic and the prevailing financial and security uncertainties, in the tumultuous year of 2020, four young men found themselves united by destiny, driven by an unyielding resolve to chase their dreams.

Compelled by fate, Ray Obeid and Mike Khally chose to abandon conventional paths and to embark on a musical journey fueled by the hope to establish a band destined for international success.

Nestled in the North Governorate, the town of Chekka witnessed all these aspirations. What started as a mere dream and a passion for Rock & Roll transformed into a pursuit to study and practice music, almost on a daily basis, in an unprepared residence, amidst the economic crisis and incessant power outages plaguing the nation.

They were joined by Juan Josee Nakhoul and Ameen Fadel, culminating in the formal christening of their band as “Blue Pulpit”.

Following their participation in a festival in France, they decided to record their first original nine-song album with each track mirroring their musings on life with complete impartiality and honesty, thus relaying the truths of society.

The end of 2022 was a turning point for them, as they garnered the patronage of the band’ Godfather Mr Imad Yazigi. They recorded their first album entitled “Welcome to the Circus”.

Currently undergoing mastering in the UK, Abbeyroad Studios, this album marks the beginning of the journey of a thousand miles. The dream includes the global release of their album, a multinational tour, the inception of a second album and the participation in festivals worldwide.

The first evaluation, the first album and the first festival are all part of long and difficult odyssey that they have embarked on with an unwavering faith, boundless passion and steadfast belief in the power of words and music to unveil the truth.

The word “dream” reverberates throughout this article, echoing only the resolve of this band. It’s a message they want to share with anyone feeling hopeless, anyone who has relinquished their aspirations and happiness.

As the Lakom Mag team extends their heartfelt wishes for success and perseverance, they eagerly anticipate the official unveiling of the band’s debut album.
